Ok, so here’s the Open Mic challenge in Portland:  Play one song from the Sgt. Peppers album. ON A UKELELE.  A ukulele??? That album was the most complex, lushly-produced record in the history of history! Ten contestants, I was number 9 (yes!). I chose “She’s Leaving Home” for my entry, in my best Paul McCartney voice … and I’m very good at emulating Paul.

Missed a few notes quite terribly, but despite that, the end result was passable, and it was a lot of fun. Good thing they didn’t ask me to play “I Am The Walrus”!
